Eddie Guerrero had some words to say to the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, to the Live Crowd and to Himself

“That’s MY new addiction. I am addicted. I’m addicted to the high I get from them. I’m addicted to the high I get when I go home and tell my family “hey, I’m doing it”. I’m addicted to the satisfaction I get to tell everybody like you who didn’t believe in me you can stick it up your ass. I’m addicted to the do or die feeling that I’m going to have this sunday night at No Way Out. Oh, what I high it is… But the difference between you and me Brock, is that I’m an addict and I’ll do anything, and run over anybody that it’s going to take to get that around my waist and get my high at No Way Out and become the WWE Champion.”

Eddie Guerrero was one of the greatest wrestlers to ever lived, a legend with multiple memorable matches and moments, one of those incredible moments was the promo before his WWE Championship match vs Brock Lesnar at No Way Out.

Guerrero is not here to say that he´s better than Lesnar or even try to start a brawl, he´s here to tell us the long road he took to get here, his real life struggle with drug addiction and the prices he had to pay to get out of that hole. The road to reconnect with his wife and children was a long path that he has finally ended but it isn´t the end of the road.

Winning the WWE Championship is not only winning a prestigious belt, it represents a lot of things for Eddie and a lot of things for a certain section of wrestling fans, the Latino fanbase.

I´m not saying that WWE is the flagship on how to treat minorities, during that era, there was some asinine stuff in their TV (Basically the JBL vs Guerrero feud) but watching someone similar in a lot of aspects to you reaching the top, and not only that, beating someone like Brock Lesnar for the top championship is why I watch this shit.

That is from the view of a fan who´s watching in his TV. For Eddie it was the coronation of all the work he has done to get back not only into wrestling but to fix his personal issues and have his family back, and also the promess of a better future.
