Samoa Joe vs Wardlow for the TNT Championship (Excitement Level: 4)
I think this match will be to decide who get beat by Powerhouse Hobbs, I think Joe is the right choice. Wardlow needs another feud not involving any Championship and see if he delivers. (Prediction: Samoa Joe)
The Gunns vs The Acclaimed vs Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal vs Orange Cassidy & Danhausen for the AEW World Tag Team Championships (Excitement Level: 1)
This match is filled with storylines with each of the three teams involved as well of the team from a stable, the issue is that like nobody cares, I do not care, any of this guys are top tier teams or even exciting to watch aside of The Acclaimed. After this PPV I will need better wrestlers with the Tag Championships and when I say better wrestlers is not only workrate wise. (Prediction: The Gunns)
The Elite vs House Of Black for the AEW Trios Championships (Excitement Level: 6)
I think the build has been simple and is great to not have segments of HOB waffling their lore stuff because they just do that when they only have to kick some ass. The Elite´s reign has been good but I think they will have something better after this PPV (Reunion with Hangman Page, feud vs BCC and Callis trying to turn Takeshita heel). I´m very 50–50 on the result and I think will be a GREAT match, is the Trios Championships, I would even say it doesn´t need this longterm feud. (Prediction: House Of Black)
Jamie Hayter vs Saraya vs Ruby Soho for the AEW Women´s World Championship (Excitement Level: 2)
The Outsiders angle had potential but is bombing, I think you can save it if you add Mercedes Moné, now we have this three way that has a really low ceiling workrate wise, I think Hayter is capable of saving this match but I don´t know. (Prediction: Jamie Hayter)
Jack Perry vs Christian Cage in a Final Burial match (Excitement Level: 7)
This storyline suffered from the longterm injury that Christian suffered but we finally will (And should) see the pay off with Jack Perry beating Christian. This was one of the main long term storylines AEW has been doing and eventhough is not as hot as it could have been the go home promo as well of this previous weeks angles have been great. (Prediction: Jack Perry).
Ricky Starks vs Chris Jericho with the JAS Banned from Ringside (Excitement Level: 7)
This feud has been scrutinized and is a very by the books feud the issue is that there wasn´t any type of real heat into this program BUT as other matches in the card the segments have felt hotter so I´m into this match and specifically how they landed it. (Prediction: Ricky Starks)
Hangman Page vs Jon Moxley in a Texas Death match (Excitement Level: 9)
The best build feud in a long time in AEW and has been VERY straightforward, this is about a fight for been the babyface ace of All Elite Wrestling. The hottest feud in AEW, already great matches and this Texas Death match sounds like the perfect stipulation for Hangman rto establish himself as the main hero of the Jacksonville territory. (Prediction: Hangman Page).
MJF vs Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship in a 60-Minute Iron Man match (Excitement Level: 8)
I´m not liking MJF as Champion but he delivers in great spots as well we have to remember he will be fighting the greatest wrestler of all time Bryan Danielson. I expect a tremendous match with very dramatic nearfalls using the clock and amount of falls. I´m hyped. (Prediction: MJF)
PPV Buys Prediction: 150k Buys.
General Thoughts and Surprises?
I think this cycle has been up and down quality wise, the product comparing it to last year is way colder BUT I think this show will have a lot of angles to setup feuds. BCC vs The Elite, Starks vs Hobbs and whoever challenges MJF (Probably Hangman) sounds like strong top of the card programs. I feel weird the lack of teasing on debuts, my prediction and listen NO INFORMATION is that Jay White debuts today. In other announcements I expect the dates and venues of Double Or Nothing and Forbidden Door.
I hope for a great buzzworthy show, they really need it, also I have already prepared my excel because I expect MOTYCs. Biased Thoughts with my review of the show will be up after the PPV.
