PREVIEW: AEW Forbidden Door 2023
DOUBLE MAIN EVENTOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
I won´t preview the Zero Hour pre show because there´s a lot of cool matches but the main card is the MAIN thing here. This show presents 2 MUST SEE matches and a great rest of the card in a show that has potential to be the best PPV in AEW history.
MJF vs Hiroshi Tanahashi for the AEW World Championship (Excitement Level: 8/10)
This match could be a classic, Tanahashi is not the same, the passing of time has eaten his peak as well of the good ol´ veteran run that a lot of wrestlers from Japan have after their physical peak. his presence wherever he is makes his singles matches something to check out. MJF will want to steal the night and maight be impossible because of the main dishes of this PPV are strong to say the least, but he will try and I think they will have a great one.
CM Punk vs Satoshi Kojima in the Quarter Finals of The Owen (Excitement Level: 5/10)
This could be a good one, two veterans that will used their old tricks to pop the crowd, I think Kojima will be really motivated to show out, he has been great in this old man run he has been having mainly outside of NJPW. I expect something worth watching.
Tetsuya Naito, Darby Allin & Sting vs Chris Jericho, Minoru Suzuki & Sammy Guevara (Excitement Level: 7/10)
Naito and Suzuki could phoned it in the ring but it wouldn´t matter because this type of 6 man matches are based on interactions and character work. Meet and Potatoes wrestling with fan favorites from different worlds, what Forbidden Door is at his core.
Adam Cole vs “Filthy” Tom Lawlor (Excitement Level: 4/10)
I wouldn´t have booked this match but they had to put Cole because he is been built for a Championship match vs MJF and I´m glad that Lawlor is featured but to be honest I don´t really care that much. Could be a good one though.
Orange Cassidy vs Daniel García vs Katsuyori Shibata vs Zack Sabre Jr for the AEW International Championship (Excitement Level: 5/10)
The tag match didn´t really got going and a four way between this guys is interesting to say the least. I expect some good moments.
Toni Storm vs Willow Nightingale for the AEW Women´s World Championship (Excitement Level: 7/10)
Potential to be the best women´s match from AEW this year as well of been a completely forgettable three star match. My guess is that they will go ALL OUT and show that both are te best active wrestlers in the women´s roster. I really think this could be the best third match of the show. Also depends in how will be booked. Looking forward to it.
SANADA vs JungleBoy Jack Perry for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship (Excitement Level: 6/10)
Jack will be cooking once again in a big spot and I think SANADA will be in a similar mission… Prove the haters wrong.
The Elite, Tomohiro Ishii & Eddie Kingston vs Blackpool Combat Club, Shota Umino & Konosuke Takeshita (Excitement Level: 9/10)
This match will serve as the main aspects of the other all star tag match but is leveled up by the talent in the prime that will be in this. Spots, callbacks, shit talking and first time interactions that result in my third most awaited match on this tremendous card.
Bryan Danielson vs Kazuchika Okada (Excitement Level: 10/10)
LEGIT dream match, two superstar first ballot hall of famers will meet in the ring for the first time and maybe the only time. A wild dream turn reality. Two generational talents from two different continents in one of the most awaited matches of all time. I have nothing more to say, the match graphics, the names involve say it all.
Kenny Omega vs Will Ospreay for the IWGP US Championship (Excitement Level: 10/10)
The sequel of another justified dream match, the second part of one of the best matches I´ve EVER seen. Kenny Omega first singles big time Championship match in Canada. Ospreay´s chance to not only show why he maybe the best wrestler in the world but to get revenge from the humilliation in Wrestle Kingdom earlier this year.

Final Thoughts
Double Main Event is the way I refer to this PPV, a real complete card that will have one of the hottest crowds of the year and one of the highest ceilings in quality since I don´t know when. Absolutely A MUST.
