Biased Thoughts: AEW Dynamite #190
MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas. Nevada. 4,3k Tickets Sold. May 24th 2023
Orange Cassidy vs Kyle Fletcher for the International Championship (***1/4) Very good opener between this guys, Kyle has shown a lot of things everywhere he has been and Orange is still surviving but I think his time will come either this Sunday or next Wednesday.
Ricky Starks, Jay White and Juice Robinson will be in the Battle Royale at DoN. Jay´s booking is basically a man who wins via bullshit, an opportunist if you will. White winning a belt in a Battle Royale would be something I won´t like but would fit his AEW character. Also AUSSIE OPEN IS ALL FUCKING ELITE!!!!!!
House Of Black vs AR Fox, Máscara Dorada & Blake Christian for the Trios Championships (***) Fun showcase for the Trios Champions, dominant win and are over with the fans.
Four guys that have made their name in AEW and that are relatively young in the main event of a huge PPV should be a reason to celebrate and be enthusiastic, this guys had sink so much that I can´t wait to this feud to end and stop hearing them whining, also going back to the bidding war of 2024… FUCK OFF!!!!
Taya Valkyrie vs Lady Frost (NR) Can´t lie, I didn´t watched it because I was searching for my cat. Sorry.
Tony Khan announced that United Center is where the first Collision show will take place and got a GIGANTIC pop. This shit will sell out first week.
Adam Cole and Jericho sign the contract for their Unsactioned match at DoN and this was very good with a beast moment with Sabu been the official enforcer for a match that will be a bloodbath.
Roderick Strong vs Daniel García (***1/2) This match was very good but they need more matches between them. García is great as a heel and Roderick just rules. Run it back but with a better crowd.
Lucha Brother vs Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta for the ROH Tag Team Championships (****) Hell of a main event with progress in the main storyline of the promotion. BCC vs The Elite has been stellar.
Rating of the Show: 7/10
Weaker than the previous shows but build the last steps to Double Or Nothing, it feels like after the PPV in Las Vegas is a New Beginning in this promotion with Collision, Forbidden Door, The Owen and All In. This PPV cycle feels like the preview of great things for AEW. Can´t wait.
Extra Notes:
- Go Home shows could be better, they need those closing brawls back.
- Aussie Open are a hell of a signing.
- Really curious to see the PPV cycles with Collision added.
- CM Punk will be back at the United Center.
- Takeshita with Aussie Open been the new power stable in AEW managed by Don Callis? Hopefully.
