Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Orange Cassidy & Bandido vs Jericho Appreciation Society (***1/2) Very fun multitag match that let us see Roderick´s Strong tremendous hot tag and a win for Cole. Good stuff all around specially Cole beating the shit out of Jericho after the match. I´m not this huge Cole fan but this feud has been good.
Saraya vs Willow Nightingale (***) Fine match with Willow been super over. The post match worked for me, finally The Outcasts eaten shit and progress was made. Hopefully soon we have some kick ass matches between the workorses in each group.
Tres de Mayo Trios Battle Royale (NR) Quick and fun, I would have picked Vikingo & Lucha Bros but The Acclaimed is fine.
Wardlow squash was whatever, Cage challenging for the belt is interesting because he can win it and have a tremendous reign, but we are in the Wardlow-Verse, and the WardlowVerse is not great at the moment.
Ricky Starks vs Juice Robinson (***3/4) Best match of the show, great that Juice Robinson found his working boots inan important match to build Starks for the match at Double Or Nothing vs Jay White. AGAIN I need this guys with a microphone because they will heat this feud inmediately.
Darby Allin & Jack Perry vs MJF & Sammy Guevara (***3/4) This was great and even if the “They can coexist” was present in the last minute they did it in a very interesting way. The main event of DoN is set, will be a FOUR WAY.
Rating of the Show: 7.5/10
This show felt like a good NJPW Road To Korakuen with big multitag matches progressing storylines as well as some single match with an upper midcard who is getting elevated, we still need those high profile matches but next week we will have them. Omega vs Mox in the Cage and OC vs Daniel García for the International Championship sound incredible. Hyped for next week. Also please, give White and Starks the microphone.
Extra Notes:
- This PPV cycle was interesting because it was the test for Sammy, MJF and Darby Allin on a main event feud. I don´t think they were great, I would give them like 6/10 BUT trying out them is great, that shows trust in your acts created in house.
- Hopefully Will Washington helps Khan to keep the momentum of certain feuds, with Collision that should be much easier.
- JAY WHITE, RICKY STARKS, MICROPHONE, PLEASE.
- BCC vs The Elite still the best feud in AEW.
- Shida´s swerve was great, perfectly executed.
