Biased Thoughts: AEW Dynamite #167

The Elite vs Triángulo de la Muerte in the Fourth match of the Best of 7 Series for the Trios Championships (***3/4) Extra points for doing the classic injury angle during the match BUT having the babyfaces loose. This matches needed a way to refresh it and the next one will have an stip. Really good.
Jack Perry vs Brian Cage (***1/2) Really fun match with Jack Perry gaining more confidence in each match. Postmatch was really well done with Hook saving Jungleboy from The Firm.
Chris Jericho vs Action Andretti (BEAST) This was ironically great until it got REAL great. Andretti pinning Jericho is a very good way to debut and it was a clean pinfall. This is inspired booking.
Ruby Soho vs Tay Melo (***1/2) They beat the shit out of each other and they got the crowd back via been stiff. The postmatch worked and I guess Ruby will search for a tag partner.
Hangman Page was been check by the doctor and did one of the best promos in AEW this year and it was something that hit hard, go watch it.
MJF vs Ricky Starks for the AEW World Championship (****) This was the first match between them in AEW, and I want to see more between this two. They are clearly laying things to use when they have the rematch. Extra points for the way they saved some spots. Great stuff and borderline been into my MOTY list.
Rating of the show: 9/10
Extra Notes:
- Fresh new programs with talents that needed something sustantial, and this show did that.
- Whoever thought about Andretti pinning Jericho clean deserves a raise, tremendous moment.
- I know some people that don´t like the way MJF is because he´s a throwback to other heels but give him patience, I love his matches and promos, he will have the MOTYC matches soon.
- After this Starks should be helping Bryan vs MJF, so in that way there´s more great matches and keep Starks momentum going.
- Texas is maybe the best crowd in the US with Chicago and New York.
- Hook, Andretti, Jack Perry with MJF and Starks in the main event in a big match, I love this. Keep it going.
