Triángulo de la Muerte vs Best Friends for the AEW Trios Championships (***3/4) Another fun match in their series but this time the main purpose was to create tension between Rey Fénix and PAC. Will be interesting too see what happens next.
Toni Storm vs Hikaru Shida for the Interim AEW Women´s World Championship (***1/2) Very strong match that stablishes Toni Storm even more and is great too see Shida back in a World Championship match even if it´s an interim belt. The post match was tremendous with Saraya brawling with Britt Baker and Riho saving Storm from Hayter. Great.
Regal entered the ring about to talk with Schiavone… But MJF entered the ring and guys, seriously, this was one of the best professional wrestling segments of the year. Furthers MJF´s character as well as his decision making. He will “cash in” or he will compete in the right way for that championship? Tremendous stuff by two of wrestling´s greats in the microphone.
Chris Jericho vs Dalton Castle for the ROH World Championship (***1/2) This match was really good, with a lot of fun moments with The Boys and finished with maybe the best Judas Effect Jericho has done.
Jon Moxley vs Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship (***3/4) This match was setting up a tremendous final stretch with the excellent pace they were working but with the lack of luck this promotion has had this year this match had to be stopped for an injury that Hangman suffered. This sucks in so many levels. I hope Page is fine.
Rating of the show: 9/10
Extra Notes:
- Hangman´s injury and the ref stoppage of the match aren´t any kind of creative decision, the injury is real. The only thing we can hope is that Hangman Page is fine and can get healthy the fastest way possible for his family.
- Now talking about the show, This was one of the best Dynamite of the year with great matches, exciting post match angles and incredible promos. Maybe the thing that needs some improvements are the backstage interviews.
- Dalton Castle is such a unique talent, maybe he can´t deliver as before the back injury workrate wise but dude is just an incredible personality.
- Once again, other week without Starks nor Hobbs. At this point is starting to get weird because not even any kind of promo or vignette.
- The post match that had the purpose of filling time after the injury was well done. Professionals solving this random situation in the best way possible that worked as a filler but as well as a progression of the storyline between MJF and the BCC and to set up the main event of Full Gear for next month.
- Hopefully Takeshita is back in AEW soon.
