About… CM Punk vs Jon Moxley for the Undisputed AEW World Championship
The meme of “What was he cooking” applied to Tony Khan
The Wolstein Center will be the venue where AEW is going all out once again on a big match that will bring consequences inside and outside the ring, a lot of noise surrounds the promotions wether is backstage drama or people not happy with their position on the card as well of ratings that can´t in any shape or form be considered bad (12 weeks of being in the Top 2 in Cable) but have been stagnant in his growth for a few months.
Doing this huge match a few days before All Out in Chicago is a weird decision historically on Khan´s booking, a booker that has been criticized on being too slow on doing matches between two top stars.
My opinion on doing this match in Dynamite is that the higher ups aren´t panicking over ratings but trying something different to regain some buzz and excitement on the top of the card that has been lacking for a while and has taking his toll on ticket sales specifically. Also we have too add some factors in this situation:
Maxwell Jacob Friedman
It was reported a few weeks ago by Dave Meltzer from The Wrestling Observer that MJF will be back on TV after months of his controversial promo mentioning the different frustrations he has had during the past months even breaking the 4th wall and throwing shots to Tony Khan and some of the talent backstage.
Him being back and interfering in any sort of form in the match would be logical because he is a big star in the promotion but the dynamic on seeing who´s the bad guy, the good guy or even an anti-hero will be interesting.
Adam “Hangman” Page
Knowing the rumours from places that usually have good sources in AEW (WON, Voices Of Wrestling, Fightful) and how the situation has been talked by Khan and Punk in the media I have the idea that there was a real issue between Hangman and Punk but it has been turn into an storyline. Wether he makes an appearence in the match or is wrestling at the main event at All Out would be a great way to heat him up and get him back on an important spot on the show. Remember that he has been #1 in the rankings for a while and is not teaming with the Dark Order in the trios tournament.
The execution of whatever Tony Khan has planned has to be a home run, some people will be happy and some are already mad because is not the usual type of booking Tony Khan does and I understand. I think the worst options are a DQ or a time limit draw, the best option would be an interference from MJF or Hangman and a winner so in that way you woud have 2 huge matches for the PPV.
